ACC to debut ESPN-operated network in 2019

ESPN, ACC agree to 20-year deal

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – The Atlantic Coast Conference is getting its own television network.

ESPN and the ACC announced the creation of the ACC Network during the start of the conference's annual ACC Kickoff media event Thursday in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The network will debut in August 2019.

As part of the 20-year agreement with ESPN, men's basketball will begin playing a 20-game ACC schedule starting with the 2019-20 season.

The conference also extended its rights agreement with ESPN through 2036.

Florida State and Miami are members of the 15-team ACC.

Notre Dame is a member in all sports but football. Under the current contract, Notre Dame would be required to join the ACC if it forgoes its football independence.
