Dolphins surprise boy with leukemia

Josh Pita gets jersey, football signed by Ryan Tannehill

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A 10-year-old boy with leukemia had no words when the Miami Dolphins surprised him at his hospital room Thursday.

"It was really cool and I didn't expect it," said Josh Pita.

The team gave Pita his own jersey and a football signed by quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

"If everyone has the heart and soul that this young man has, it will be a better world," said former Dolphin Twan Russell.

Pita was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 7 years old.

"When Josh was diagnosed, the first words out of his mouth word were I am going to die," said Laura Pita.

But football has helped him recover. Now in remission, Josh hasn't missed a practice for his youth team. His family also got season tickets to root for the undefeated Dolphins.
