Duke Johnson named seminfinalist for major award

'Canes running back vying for Doak Walker Award

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami Hurricanes running back Duke Johnson is up for a big national award.

Johnson was named one of 10 semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award on Wednesday.

The award is given out annually to the nation's best running back.

Johnson has 1343 yards rushing on just 185 carries.

He became the first player in program history to 5,000 career all-purpose yards.
