Gators to play Iowa in Outback Bowl

Florida will play at Raymond James Stadium

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – The Florida Gators will be facing Iowa in the Outback Bowl.

With Florida accepting a bid Sunday to play at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, the Hurricanes, Seminoles and Gators will all be playing in the state of Florida.

The Outback Bowl is Jan. 2 at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Local 10.

This will be the fourth all-time meeting between the schools.

The Gators defeated the Hawkeyes in the 1983 Gator Bowl and 2005 Outback Bowl. They lost to Iowa in the 2003 Outback Bowl.

Florida has a 2-2 record in the Outback Bowl.

The Gators finished the season with an 8-4 record, including a loss to Alabama in the SEC championship game.

Iowa also finished the season with an 8-4 record.
