Cornerback injured late against Virginia

Hurricanes cornerback Ladarius Gunter throws up the "U" after suffering an injury vs Virginia

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – University of Miami cornerback Ladarius Gunter was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital after suffering an injury late in the Canes game on Saturday.

Gunter was trying to make a tackle late in Miami's 45-26 win.

Gunter initially was on his feet.

Gunter fell to the ground.

He was down for several minutes.

Gunter was carted off the field.

According to reports, he was flown to the hospital for observation.

Canes released a statement Saturday night, "Ladarius Gunter has been released from the hospital this evening following an upper extremity injury he suffered Saturday afternoon against Virginia. He will be able to play football again this season once he is fully healed."
