Dwyane Wade missed 3-pointer just before buzzer to send Heat to crushing loss

DETROIT – Reggie Jackson scored on a driving layup with five seconds left to cap a 10-0 run and Dwyane Wade missed a 3-pointer just before the buzzer to send the Heat to a crushing 99-98 loss in Detroit.

Miami held a 93-78 lead with 5:14 to play, but allowed the Pistons to close on a outscore them 21-5 the rest of the way including 10-0 over the final 2:00.

With the loss, Miami falls a half-game behind Boston for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Wade had 24 points to lead the Heat while Reggie Jackson paced the Pistons with 29.
