Heat introduce Shabazz Napier

Guard hopes to make instant impact

MIAMI – The Miami Heat introduced their draft pick Shabazz Napier on Monday.

The guard was brought out by Team President Pat Riley and Head Coach Erik Spoelstra.

The guard won 2 national titles during his 4 years with Connecticut.

Napier said, "Everything is so exciting.  I'm ready to get things started, I'm ready to learn.  This is actually, Saturday morning was my first time in Miami and I'm excited to be here."

Coach Spoelstra said, "We had one day off as a coaching staff.  We had to go through 40-50 players to get ourselves through draft night.  From the very beginning of the process, Shabazz was at the top of our list."

Napier was also the favorite player of LeBron James.

During the NCAA tournament, and during the draft, James tweeted praise for Napier.
