Larranaga named Coach of the Year

MIAMI - Canes head coach Jim Larranaga picked up a big honor on Tuesday.

Larranaga was named the Henry Iba Coach of the Year.

The award is picked by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.

He will pick up his award at the Final Four in Atlanta.

Larranaga led the Canes to their first ever ACC regular season and conference championships.

In his second season at Miami, Larranaga led the Canes to a 27-6 record.

Miami is the 2-seed in the East region.

They will play Pacific on Friday in Austin, TX.
