Le Batard suspended for LeBron billboard

ESPN suspends popular host for two days

MIAMI – It appears that LeBron James has a better sense of humor than ESPN.

According to the Miami Herald, popular ESPN television and radio host Dan Le Batard has been suspended for buying an Ohio billboard that mocked LeBron James.

The billboard, which was placed in LeBron's hometown of Akron, pointedly reminded James that he won his two NBA titles in South Florida with the Miami Heat.

Le Batard, whose radio show airs locally on FM 104.3 and AM 790 The Ticket, has been benched for two days and will return to the airwaves on Monday.

In a statement sent to The Big Lead, an ESPN spokesman said about Le Batard, "His recent stunt does not reflect ESPN's standards and brand. Additionally, we were not made aware of his plans in advance."

Since James announced his plans to return to the Cavaliers, many Heat fans were angered over the 4-time NBA MVP's refusal to thank them for their support.

Le Batard had attempted to place similar ads in Ohio newspapers but was rebuffed before turning his attention to the billboard.
