LeBron James has big goals as the Miami Heat try to win a third straight NBA Championship.
"I want to be the greatest of all-time. That's my motivation. It's that simple," he said Monday at the team's media day.
What may not be simple is LeBron's future.
The Heat star can opt out of his contract after this season. However, that wasn't a topic that he wanted address Monday.
"Being the leader of this team, I owe it to this organization, I owe it to my teammates to really not get involved in it, not really talk about it," he said.
LeBron, impressed by the team's off-season moves, including signing big man Greg Oden, keeping Chris Andersen, and signing Michael Beasley, said, "I think the acquisitions that we've made are going to help us."
Asked about every aspect of the off-season including his marriage to his long-time girlfriend, James quipped, "I got three rings now."
When talk was brought up about Game 6 of the NBA Finals where the Heat were motivated after seeing yellow rope put up to clear the way for the Spurs to celebrate, LeBron joked, "Is there a rule change on that? Don't bring out yellow rope until there are 0s on the clock?"
Finally, when asked about his goals for this season, LeBron said, "I haven't accomplished it. Not yet. Not until I win, not 11, not 12, not 13. Not 14."
The Heat begin training camp Tuesday in the Bahamas.
