PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – As the final weeks of the college football season approach, Local10.com managing editor Peter Burke and sports reporter Clay Ferraro are locked in a close race to claim champion status in the weekly picks.
Burke, who leads the pack with a 94-36 overall record, tied with Ferraro and executive sports producer David Lang for an 8-2 record after last week's games.

Ferraro is a close second in the overall standings with a 92-38 record, while Lang is third with a 90-40 record.
Nobody saw South Carolina's 23-20 overtime victory at Florida coming in a game that signaled the beginning of the end of the Will Muschamp era.
Burke, Ferraro and sports producer Tory McMahon also failed to place any faith in the schizophrenic play of FIU, which was denied bowl eligibility thanks to 38-28 Panthers win. The Blue Raiders will try to clinch a sixth win this weekend when they host FAU.
McMahon picked with her heart when she chose Miami over Florida State, but the Seminoles were victorious once again after rallying for a 30-26 win at Sun Life Stadium.
Couple that with her decision to choose Clemson over Georgia Tech, McMahon lost four games by week's end and remains last with an 86-44 overall record.
With the exception of the rivalry game between USC and UCLA, this week's slate of games don't present any real challenges. Barring any surprises, the gap likely won't close for at least another week.
All picks are in bold.
