Everyone, including Ronaldo, seemed surprised by the on-field invasion.

The fan hugged and spoke to the soccer star at least 25 seconds before two Miami-Dade police officers responded and removed him from the field. Police identified the fan as 19-year-old Ronald Gjoka (pictured below).

Gjoka, who was born in Albania, goes to school in Palm Beach, according to police. He was charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct.

While an incident report identified him as Ronaldo, jail records showed his name is Ronald.

The Portuguese star handled the entire situation well and received a standing ovation from the 67,000 fans in attendance. He scored two goals in Real Madrid's 3-1 win over Chelsea and was named man of the match.

The Miami-Dade Police Department issued a statement Thursday afternoon, saying: "During the International Champions Cup final in Miami's Sun Life Stadium a fan managed to enter the field and approach and hug Soccer Icon Mr. Cristiano Ronaldo. This is an isolated and an unfortunate incident and we apologize to Mr. Ronaldo and the fans. The Miami-Dade Police Department is looking into this matter in order to ensure there are no reoccurring incidents in the future."
