MIAMI - The Miami Marlins have signed a one-year deal with relief pitcher Carlos Marmol.

Marmol, 31, split the 2013 season between the Cubs and Dodgers organizations.

He had a 2-4 record with a 4.41 ERA in 52 appearances.

Marmol was an All-Star in 2008.

To make room on their roster, the Marlins designated pitcher Chris Hatcher for assignment.
