The Miami Dolphins seek a turnover turnaround.
For coach Joe Philbin, improving Miami's turnover differential is the No. 1 priority in training camp. Defensive players are encouraged to take frequent swipes at footballs hanging from the walls of team meeting rooms, and many of the Dolphins' offseason moves were made to increase takeaways or reduce turnovers.
The Dolphins tied for fourth-worst in the NFL last year with 16 takeaways, and they tied for 17th with 26 turnovers. Their differential of minus-10 tied for eighth-worst.
In the offseason Miami added linebackers Philip Wheeler and Dannell Ellerbe, rookie defensive end Dion Jordan and cornerback Brent Grimes. All are expected to help create more turnovers.
