Marlins open 2017 home schedule with Braves, Mets

Astros, Angels, Dodgers, Giants, Padres also visit Marlins Park next year

MIAMI – The Miami Marlins will open their 2017 home schedule against the Atlanta Braves after playing their first six games of the season on the road.

Miami will host the Braves for a three-game series April 11-13 and the New York Mets for a three-game series April 14-16 to begin their home slate announced Wednesday.

The Marlins will host the Houston Astros from May 15-17, Los Angeles Angels from May 26-28 and Oakland Athletics from June 13-14 in interleague play.

Miami will host the Tampa Bay Rays for a two-game series at the beginning of May and the Arizona Diamondbacks for a four-game series at the start of June.

The Marlins will stay home for the All-Star break since Marlins Park will host the All-Star Game in July for the first time.

Other teams to visit Marlins Park in 2017 include the Chicago Cubs from June 22-25, Los Angeles Dodgers from July 14-16, San Francisco Giants from Aug. 14-16 and San Diego Padres from Aug. 25-27.
