Riley addressed reporters after the deadline passed.

Riley said, "Nothing.  Wasn't really a buyer or seller.  We said at the beginning of the year that we had a team that we liked.  A group of young players and wanted to see who would emerge, really emerge. "

Riley is excited to see his young core of players respond to a playoff hunt, "I want to see how they'll operate now with real pressure.  If making the playoffs is important, than there will be some games with some pressure."

Riley think making the playoffs would be something to build off of.

Riley said, "Let's play this out.  We have a great roster of young players... great coaching staff that's teaching them everything they know."

Riley also emphasized that the Heat have a draft pick and free agent money to build.

Riley said, "I'm glad we didn't do anything stupid."

Riley cited the Goran Dragic, Tim Hardaway, and Alonzo Mourning deals as times when the trade deadline was exciting.

The Heat won 14 of 16 games before the All-Star break.

Miami starts the stretch run 2 games out of the final playoff spot in the East.
