Report: Heat to meet with free agent Durant

NBA All-Star to host meetings with teams starting July 1

MIAMI – It appears that the Heat's Pat Riley has won a rare opportunity to spin some magic and convince Kevin Durant to move to Miami.

The Vertical is reporting that the Heat are one of six NBA teams that the unrestricted free agent will meet with to discuss his future starting on July 1.

The Heat will get their chance to sway Durant into believing that the best place for him to win a NBA championship is in South Florida, like LeBron James, Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade before him.

The Thunder superstar is expected to meet with his current team along with the Heat, Celtics, Warriors, Clippers, and Spurs at one location.

With more money to be made in the 2017 off-season, many expect Durant to sign a 2-year deal that would give him the opportunity to opt-out after one season and re-enter free agency next summer.

After the Heat were eliminated from the 2016 NBA Playoffs, Riley said Hassan Whiteside will be his top priority. Whiteside says he hopes to make his own free agent decision by July 1.
