The Vertical was the first to report the news out of Toronto where the game will be played.

Bosh was selected to his 11th NBA All-Star game and would have been playing in the city where he started his career with the Raptors in 2003.

Bosh was scheduled to participate in the Three-Point Contest on All-Star Saturday Night, but he will skip that too.

Atlanta's Al Horford will replace Bosh on the Eastern Conference roster.

"I am honored to be selected to participate in the All-Star Weekend festivities, and will still be here to support my fellow East All-Stars," Bosh said in a statement released Friday. "But I will also use this weekend to try to heal and focus on the second half of the Heat season."
