Jason Taylor picks Jimmy Johnson for Hall of Fame introduction

Dolphins legend taps his former coach

MIAMI – Jason Taylor has decided who will introduce him into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Taylor has picked his former head coach, Jimmy Johnson.

Taylor said on a social media post that took his time with the decision, but "the same name always rose to the top of the list."

Taylor said he's excited and honored to have Johnson because the coach "believed in me from Day 1."

Taylor said that Johnson gave him the opportunity of a lifetime.

Johnson said on Twitter he's honored to present Taylor and called him "1 of the most talented players I ever recruited or coached... He made plays that WON games!"

Taylor was selected for Canton in his first year of eligibility.

He played 15 NFL seasons, 13 with the Dolphins.

Taylor was a six-time Pro Bowl player. He also recorded 139.5 sacks.

Taylor becomes the 10th Dolphin to receive this honor.
