FalesĀ was a sixth-round pick of the Chicago Bears in 2014. While with the Bears, Fales worked with Dolphins head coach Adam Gase, who was then offensive coordinator in Chicago.

Fales has very limited game experience in the NFL, having thrown only five career passes and completing two of them for the Bears in the 2016 season.
