MIAMI - Now for a story about a local boy done good.
Jeff Zucker, who grew up in South Florida before becoming the head honcho at NBC Universal, now has a new gig.
Zucker was named President of CNN Worldwide on Thursday. He will oversee CNN's vast holdings which include 23 different broadcast and digital businesses.
Zucker has a tough task ahead of him as CNN has fallen to third in the cable news ratings race behind FOX and MSNBC.
Zucker gave his hometown a shout out on Thursday: "I am thrilled to join the distinguished team of journalists across the worldwide platforms of CNN. The global reach and scale of the CNN brand is unparalleled in all of news. Outside of my family and the Miami Dolphins, there is nothing I am as passionate about as journalism."
