MIAMI – The Florida Panthers picked a center with the #2 overall pick in the NHL draft.
The Cats selected center Aleksander Barkov.

General Manager Dale Tallon said Barkov can take the puck end to end.
Barkov is 6-foot 2-inches tall.
He weighs 207 pounds.
According to scouts Barkov received 4/5 skating, 5/5 on his Ice Q, 5/5 on his hands, 4/5 on his shot, and 5/5 on his compete level.
His projection was 4th overall.
