DAVIE, Fla. – Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin said Monday he appreciates the vote of confidence from his owner Stephen Ross.
Philbin said, "I'm very supportive of Steve. Steve has supported me. I'm delighted, but really when you are a football coach you are so consumed you have enough things going on to worry about your own situation."

Philbin was asked if he did anything different when he learned that he'll be back next season.
The coach said, "I had one Guiness. No, it was absolutely the same. I was able to see a couple of my children who are home that I don't get to see all the time on the way home."
The Dolphins have an 8-7 record.
They'll try to end the season with a winning record when they host the Jets next Sunday.
