LOS ANGELES - Big expectations appear to have led to a quick hook in Los Angeles.

The L.A. Lakers have fired head coach Mike Brown after just five games.

According to an ESPN report, Brown has been let go after the Lakers got off to a 1-4 start.

Los Angeles made a big splash in free agency by signing center Dwight Howard and point guard Steve Nash.

Still, the Lakers were winless in the preseason and have been terrible during their 1-4 regular season start.
