Southern Cal running back Tre Madden could miss the Trojans' first three games with a turf toe injury, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

Madden finished second on the team with 703 rushing yards last season and is rated as the No. 19 junior running back in the nation by He sports excellent size at 6-feet-1 and 225 pounds, but is not a speed burner with a 40-yard dash time reported at 4.68 seconds.

Javorius Allen led USC with 785 yards last season and is expected to be the primary ballcarrier, with Justin Davis the only other scholarship tailback on the roster.

Madden is expected to miss the season-opener against Fresno State on Saturday, the Pac-12 opener against Stanford and a Sept. 13 game against Boston College. He could return in time for the Sept. 27 game against Oregon State following a bye week.
