AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -

Heat forward Michael Beasley left Detroit on Thursday with 9 points in a win over the Pistons.

And, oh yeah, a nice shiner, as well.

The Heat forward, beginning his second stint with the team that drafted him with the second overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, was reportedly so angry at himself after a turnover, Beasley began punching himself in the head.

According to tweets from the Miami Herald, the self-inflected blows were so powerful that Beasley required medical treatment following the game.

Signed almost a month ago, Beasley is trying to show the Heat that he has matured both on the court and off.

Beasley played only 9 minutes in the game, but added two rebounds and two steals.

"To play meaningful minutes, it was fun," he said. "I just wanted to play good defense and let whatever offense there was come to me."
