Richie Incognito's suspension extended with pay

NFL Networks' Jeff Darlington sats deal has approval of NFL, NFL Players Association

MIAMI – The Dolphins and Richie Incognito have agreed to extend his suspension with pay until Ted Wells finishes his investigation, according to NFL Networks' Jeff Darlington.

This deal has the approval of the NFL and NFL Players Association, Darlington reports.

"I will not be reporting the reasons, perceived by both sides as beneficial, because neither side will go on record with those explanations," Darlington said on his Twitter feed Friday afternoon.

ESPN reporter Chris Mortensen said the agreement on Incognito came on Nov. 21 when he postponed grievance, according to sources. Two game checks and six-week cap will allow Ted Wells to conclude the probe.

The collective bargaining agreement would have limited the Dolphins from extending Incognito beyond Sunday's game.
