Ronaldo training for comeback with Strikers

Team sets no timetable for possible return

FORT LAUDERDALE – Ronaldo is considering a comeback with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers.

George Stieren, VP of communications for the Strikers, said: "He wants to lose weight and is training on his own in Brazil."

Ronaldo, 38, has not played for four years.

He announced in January that he would like to play for the team in which he purchased a stake.

The Strikers season starts April 4.

Ronaldo won the World Cup with Brazil twice.

He was also world player of the year in 1996, 1997, and 2002.
