Soccer superstar Radamel Falcao to play at Marlins ballpark

AS Monaco, of France, will play against Atletico Nacional, of Colombia

MIAMI ā€“ Soccer superstar Radamel Falcao was in Miami training for a game set for Wednesday night at the Miami Marlins ballpark.

After Monday's practice at Florida International University in West-Miami-Dade, Falcao told reporters that he supported David Beckham's soccer stadium dream.

"Miami has great potential to have a club," Falcao said. "It has a huge Latin American population that is deeply passionate for this sport."

Falcao was unable to play during the FIFA World Cup. He was recovering from a knee injury. His absence gave James Rodriguez room to shine. Real Madrid signed Rodriguez.

Falcao, born in Santa Marta, is a striker for AS Monaco. His team was set to play against Atletico Nacional, a club based in Medellin.

Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado gave him the key to the city. Falcao posted in Instagram that he was grateful for getting the key to this "beautiful city."
