During an offseason that included losing LeBron James, Spoelstra said, "We didn't have time to feel sorry for ourselves."
Instead, the Heat went out and made sure to sign Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
Spoelstra is looking for his team to continue to grow.
He said he wants to look back every month and say "wow, we were horrible."
Spoelstra is aware that teams want to take down the four-time defending Eastern Conference Champions.
Spoelstra said, "I think teams want to play us right now, take it to us."
Chris Bosh added, "Just because a few people count us out doesn't mean anything."
The Heat and Wizards tip off at 7:30 p.m.
