MIAMI -

The Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs both started strong in the first quarter of Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

Heat guard Dwyane wade made the first missed shot of the quarter from either team, with just under seven minutes left in the quarter.

The Spurs would lead through the rest of the quarter, ending 41-25.

SECOND QUARTER:

Norris Cole started the second quarter off with a 3-point jumper off the bat, but by the Heat’s second timeout the Spurs were leading them by a whopping 55-30.

With just under five minutes left in the quarter Rashard Lewis makes a 3-point jumper, catching the Heat up 58-40, after Miami was trailing by 25 earlier on.

But the Spurs’ offense would prove too much for the Heat’s defense. The Heat trailed the Spurs 71-50 at halftime.

THIRD QUARTER:

Heat fans’ spirits were lifted after Dwyane Wade’s free throw and Chris Bosh’s 3-point jumper left the Heat trailing the Spurs by just 15.

The Heat were definitely the aggressors in the beginning of the second half, and with just two minutes left in the quarter Norris Cole would make a 2-point shot putting the Heat just 10 points behind the Spurs.

The Spurs lead the Heat 86-75 at the end of the third quarter.

FOURTH QUARTER:

The Spurs led by at least 10 points throughout the fourth quarter.

Norris Cole would make a final free throw but it wasn’t enough for the Heat to overcome the Spurs.

San Antonio now leads the NBA Finals series 2-1, after defeating the Heat 111-92 in Game 3.

The last time the Miami Heat lost a playoff home game was against the Spurs in the opening game of last year's NBA Finals. Since then, the Heat won 11 straight, including eight in a row this season.

Last year the Spur’s defeated the Heat in Game 3 by 36 points.
