Even as the Miami Heat celebrated their NBA championship with a parade on Monday, team executives were already looking to the future.
One potential target could be Steve Nash, the veteran point guard, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent July 1.
Nash said he's keeping his options open. He told ESPN New York on Monday, "I'm open to everything. And I will definitely look at every situation that comes my way on Sunday, and I'm not going to close myself to any opportunities."
The Heat are one of several teams who could pursue Nash. Others mentioned include the New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers.
Nash averaged 12.5 points and 10.7 assists for the Phoenix Suns last season and at age 38 still feels he can play a few more seasons.
