The Fort Lauderdale Strikers beat the Carolina RailHawks 1-0 on Friday night for the club's third straight win.

In the 50th minute, Darnell King finished a cross from Ivan Guerrero.

“It’s all Ivan (Guerrero), said King. “He is a work horse.  He gets up and down the line, and somebody’s got to be there on the back side, we just have to be in the box cause we know he’s going to serve in the box. It was a good ball and I was there at the right time.”

Richard Sanchez held on for his second straight clean sheet.

"It was a tough match against the top team in the league, but we got the win, said Strikers head coach Günter Kronsteiner. “There’s still a lot of work to do, but the team’s confidence is getting higher with each win.”

With the win, the Strikers sit in second place behind the RailHawks. The Strikers next play the San Antonio Scorpions on Sept. 7 at Lockhart Stadium.
