As the Miami Dolphins head into their bye week, quarterback Ryan Tannehill and star receiver Mike Wallace continue to work on their connection.
In Sunday's game against the Ravens, Wallace and Tannehill connected on 7 passes for 105 yards.
Still, there were several times where it appeared the two might not be on the same page.
Tannehill addressed the chemistry question on Tuesday, talking specifically about trying to hit Wallace on deep passes, "I feel like I have plenty of arm to get it there, it's just trusting him and getting it out there. We've missed some in practice, missed some in games, where I'm overthrowing him."
The second-year quarterback was even critical of a 49-yard pass that Wallace was able to bring in, "The one in the game should've been a touchdown if I threw it another yard or two, he's able to catch it and keep running for a touchdown"
Tannehill emphasized that the main issue is trust, "We're just going to have to continue to grow and I've just got to trust him. That's what it's going to come down to."
Wallace believes working together is the key, "I know I'll be watching film of the first five games over and over. Just looking at myself and ways to get better."
Wallace signed a $60-million contract to join the Dolphins before the season.
