CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami Hurricanes third baseman David Thompson has been named a finalist for the Dick Howser Trophy.
The junior All-American is one of five finalists for the award.

He is the lone representative from the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Thompson lead the nation in home runs (19) and RBIs (85). He is vying to become the second Miami player to win the award, joining Mike Fiore, who won in 1987.
The winner will be unveiled June 11.
Miami hosts VCU in the Coral Gables super regional Friday at noon.
