It's time for the Heat and Knicks again. Just like the old days. Miami and New York was one of the top rivalries in the NBA over a decade ago. We all remember the classic playoff showdowns that normally went to the Knicks, but that was then and this is now.
While a sexy match-up on paper, and for TV ratings, the Knicks just do not match up well with Miami. Yes, Carmelo Anthony is a premiere scorer and yes New York has some size that could give the Heat trouble, but they simply can't match Miami's explosiveness.
LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are a lethal 1-2 punch on offense and defense, and over the course of a 7-game series, the Knicks can't keep up.
Much has been made about Miami's late season struggles, but let's not forget, a lot of the same things were talked about last year and all Miami did was breeze through the Eastern Conference playoffs.
I expect the same things in the 1st round this season. Just like they beat the Sixers last year in 5 games, I'll say Miami over New York in 5.
