Traffic delays expected near Marlins Park for Monday's Opening Day

Marlins to begin season against Braves at 4:10 p.m.

MIAMI – Heavy traffic is expected near Marlins Park Monday afternoon as the Miami Marlins open their season against the Atlanta Braves.

The first pitch is scheduled to be thrown at 4:10 p.m., but gates open as early as 1:30 p.m. Season ticket holders will be allowed inside the park at that time to watch batting practice. All entrances open at 2 p.m. ahead of a 3:30 p.m. ceremony on the field.

The team expects the game to be nearly sold out. Late Sunday night, a Marlins representative said limited seated tickets remained for sale. Standing room only tickets will be available once the final tickets are sold.

As of Sunday night, five of the team's six surface lots were sold out. The 200 spots left in the park's First Base Garage were expected to be sold by Monday morning.
