UCF preparing for conference-opener vs Memphis
UCF moving on after tough loss, focused on conference-opener against improved Memphis squad
UCF players are focusing on correcting the mistakes they made in their tough loss to No. 13 South Carolina and not dwelling on the setback.
They don't have time. The Knights (3-1) open their American Athletic Conference schedule Saturday at Memphis with their sights set on a possible conference title, and maybe their first BCS bowl bid in school history.
Quarterback Blake Bortles and several players met with coach George O'Leary on Sunday to talk about what kind of improvements need to be made.
Though they have beaten Memphis (1-2, 0-0) eight consecutive games while both were members of Conference USA, the Knights say they will not be overconfident because this may be the best Tigers team they have faced in a long time.
