MIAMI - It's a doomsday scenario for the NBA.
David Stern and the owners expected the players to cave in, and for a change they showed they're not going to accept an inferior deal. Now Stern has a big problem.
Coming off one of its most successful seasons ever, the league has left fans with nothing. With the union set to decertify, there is a real threat there will not be a season.
Keep in mind though, even as the legal process goes on, the two sides can still negotiate and agree to a shortened season. But with the players' latest move, the ball is back in the owners' court. And once again, it's the fans, especially Heat fans, who lose out.
