MIAMI -

The owner of two dogs taken from the Publix parking lot at Mary Brickell Village is offering a $2,000 reward for either dog and $6,000 if they are both returned safely.

"We were only going to be there for 10 minutes," said Jennifer Whither.

Whither and Patrick Orlando left Bianco and Misha in the car as they went into the grocery store.

"I remember saying to the dogs we'll be right back," said Patrick.

"When I opened the door, they always bark because they were so excited," said Jennifer.

Almost immediately Jennifer  noticed weren't barking, then she saw the shattered glass.

"The only thing they took were the dogs," said Patrick.

The Orlando's quickly printed up flyers and plastered them all over Mary Brickell Village, but so far, their effort has been met with silence.

Smash and grabs are common in South Florida, but usually thieves are after wallets and purses, not pets.
