Join fellow animal lovers at a special event to benefit a South Florida animal rescue group that rescues dogs needing special medical attention and deemed unadoptable.
"These dogs don’t get any more chances; they are either rescued or euthanized" said Christina Smith with Luv-A-Bull All Breed Rescue, Inc. "We help these dogs by restoring their health and getting them the veterinary care, love and attention they need to thrive once again."
In addition, the rescue group is setting up a fund to help people who adopt a dog from Broward County Animal Care & Adoption and then find out it needs expensive care that they are not prepared to financially provide.
In many instances these adopters return the dog to the shelter and it an automatic death sentence for the animal.
"We want to help these people keep their dog and save its life," Smith said. "This could be a win-win situation for both the shelter and rescues. The more dogs that are adopted from the shelter, the fewer dogs need to go to rescue. At this time, most rescues are full and have no room to take any more dogs. People could adopt the dog they want regardless of the dogs’ condition and be confident in knowing that we will help their dog recover."
The benefit will be held on Feb 23, 2013 from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. at Riverwalk in Fort Lauderdale.
There will be live music, food and drinks, prizes.
