Thanks to the support and initiative of the Spay Neuter Miami Foundation, free surgeries for dogs will be available every Saturday in May and free surgeries for cats will be available on Saturday, May 26 for residents of Miami-Dade County.  Surgeries will be performed at the Joseph Caleb Center located at 5400 NW 22nd Avenue, Miami, Florida 33142.

Through funding received from the ASPCA®, free rabies, canine distemper and feline upper respiratory vaccinations will be administered to all pets presented for surgery.  Pets will also receive flea and tick preventive and a complimentary microchip, collar and ID tag.  The estimated value of the services and products for each dog is over $400 and over $250 for each cat. 

Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 3-1-1.

Each year, the shelter impounds approximately 30,000 pets.  The goal at Animal Services is to reunite lost pets with their families or find life-long homes for as many animals as possible.  For more information, visit www.miamidade.gov/animals or call 3-1-1.
