"We are very excited to partner with BECON in order to educate viewers on important and helpful information to care for dogs and cats, including our adoptable pets,” said Lisa Mendheim, public education coordinator, Broward County Animal Care and Adoption.
The programs will feature tips on improving pet behavior, which is the primary reason for surrendering a family pet. Between segments, adoptable pets from Broward County Animal Care and Adoption will be shown with each of the segments also available on
YouTube. Take Paws program is available for viewing through Broward County public school system and broadcast on Comcast Cable channel 19, DirecTV, Dish Network and AT&T U-verse on channel 63 in Broward, Dade and Palm Beach counties to more than 5
million viewers, on Broward.org/VideoCentral on demand.
The Take Paws program is part of Animal Care's community outreach to bring attention to pet adoption of homeless dogs and cats as well as various aspects of pet care, including responsible pet ownership. The first of the four new episodes is sponsored in part by a Community Foundation of Broward grant. This week's episode will include segments on the following topics:
• Dealing with needless elimination of cats
• Choosing a new pet
• Canine therapy team
“We're very proud of the new show we've created in cooperation with Broward County Animal Care and Adoption. The expertise of local vets and trainers appearing in Take Paws will help pet owners provide a healthy, happy future for their pets. Most of all, we hope the shelter segments in each show will lead to more lives being saved through new adoptions,” said Mike Moscatello, executive producer of Take Paws.”
