SAN ANTONIO, Texas -

When Dacrie Brooks begins her Zumba fitness class, a roomful of faithful followers is ready to go.

"We all love Dacrie. She brings such attitude and spirit to the class," said student Tara Jeter.

"You want to do what she does, but it's impossible. She makes it so much fun, you don't even realize that you're exercising," said Kristen Sweet, also a student.

Brooks is a testament to the power of Zumba.  She's lost 120 pounds since enrolling in her first class two years ago.

"It was the only thing that I could do where I felt like I was having fun but it wasn't really working out," she said. "At the end of the class, I'd be drenched, so I did get a good workout."

So impressed by her personal success, followers have flocked to Brooks's classes, passing up treadmills and elliptical machines for this pumped-up party.

"We are faithful to Dacrie. We follow her wherever she goes," said Sweet.

And, Brooks is faithful to her clients.

"I get to inspire other people who inspire me back so it's just Zumba love all around," said Brooks.

Brooks said the typical calorie burn in a 55-minute Zumba workout is at least 500 calories.
