Pets half-off during adoption extravaganza at Broward County Humane Society

Regular adoption fee $100 for dogs, $25 for cats

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. ā€“ The Humane Society of Broward County is holding a three-day adoption special it is calling an "extravaganza."

Any pet 3 years of age or older, or weighing more than 30 pounds, can be purchased at half-price Friday through Sunday.

The regular adoption fee is $100 for dogs and $25 for cats.

"We have so many great pets that are waiting to be adopted," Humane Society spokeswoman Cherie Wachter said. "Many are well-trained and just looking for a second chance.Ā We hope this offer will encourage people who have thought about adopting to visit."

All pets will be spayed or neutered, implanted with a microchip and provided with preliminary vaccinations before going home. Pet owners will also receive a 10-day health care plan and a free bag of Purina One pet food.

Prospective pet owners must meet certain adoption criteria.

The Humane Society of Broward County is located at 2070 Griffin Road in Fort Lauderdale. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
