How to beat the heat during summer weddings

Stay hydrate, take breaks to endure the heat

Summer is a popular time of the year to get married, but that also means you might have to deal with summer heat. Follow these tips to beat the heat on your wedding day.

Keep your guests, and the wedding party, hydrated: Make sure you make water and lemonade available to guests before and during the ceremony and reception. Try to hold off on serving alcoholic beverages until the reception.

Schedule appropriately: The sun is strongest at midday, so try to avoid scheduling your ceremony and photos during that time.

Water the flowers: In the heat your flowers will start to wilt. Make sure to water all flowers (including bouquets and center pieces) before the wedding.

Take breaks: It's important to take breaks and sit down and cool off throughout the day. Try to sit out a few dances and take a couple of breaks from greeting guests to rest and rehydrate.
