MIAMI - The "Click It or Ticket" campaign will begin Memorial Day weekend throughout South Florida.
The Florida Department of Transportation District Six will partner with other law enforcement agencies to conduct a zero-tolerance, round-the-clock sweep for drivers in Miami-Dade County who fail to wear a seat belt.
Florida passed a primary seat belt law that allows police offices to pull over drivers that fail to buckle up.
From May 21 through June 3, law enforcement officers will fan out across Miami-Dade County in a life-saving effort to get drivers to wear their seat belts.
If you are stopped and you are not wearing one, there will be no warnings issued; you will get a ticket.
On May 29, the department will conduct "rolling" enforcement operations at various locations in Medley and Doral, where drivers will be pulled over and cited for not wearing seat belts and for other traffic safety violations.
