3 killed in Sawgrass Expressway crash

Car slams into concrete barrier, FHP says

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Two men and a woman were killed Wednesday morning in a single-car crash in the southbound lanes of the Sawgrass Expressway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Sgt. Mark Wysocky said the victims were riding in a white Mercedes-Benz about midnight Wednesday when, for an unknown reason, the car hit a concrete barrier wall over Riverside Drive in Coral Springs.

All three people were pronounced dead at the scene.

Wysocky said at least one victim was wearing a seatbelt, and troopers were trying to determine if the others were as well.

Troopers were investigating whether speed and rain were factors in the crash.
