Firefighters extract woman from SUV on Dolphin Expressway

Woman taken to Ryder Trauma Center

MIAMI – A woman was taken to a hospital Tuesday night after she was trapped inside a sport utility vehicle that crashed on the Dolphin Expressway.

Miami Department of Fire-Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said the woman had to be extricated from her SUV. She was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition.

Traffic was blocked near Northwest 45th Avenue for a short period after the crash, but all lanes reopened by 8 p.m.

No other information about the crash was immediately available.
