OPA-LOCKA, Fla. – There's a new way to travel in style, and on Wednesday, Local 10 News reporter Todd Tongen got a tour inside what's being called the most luxurious jet in the world.
The Crystal Skye is billed as the most luxuriously appointed charter Boeing 777 in the world.
Normally, a jet of its kind has 300 seats, but Crystal Skye has only 88, and they are all first class.
After dining on a sumptuous meal prepared by an executive chef on fine china, passengers may want to retire.
Every seat on the plane lies down into a bed and passengers can make phone calls around the world and watch live-streaming TV. Passengers can also put on their free Bose noise-cancelling headphones and tuck in for the flight with a cashmere blanket.
"This is the largest wine cellar -- sky cellar in the sky. We can handle up to 300 bottles," Crystal CEO Edie Rodriguez said.
With a crew of 20, each person is assigned an in-flight butler, and if they need to get up for a stretch, they can head to the Crystal Skye social lounge that has a jaw-dropping dining room and full bar.
"This lounge can seat 24 people for dining and six more on the couches and about 10 more around the bar," Rodriguez said.
The long-range jet can fly nonstop for 19 and a half hours to accommodate globe-trotting clientele.
All of the luxury isn't cheap.
A nonstop trip from New York to Paris chartering the whole plane is nearly $500,000, but the good news is there are no baggage fees.
